“Welcome to My House”
‘Welcome to My House’ is a disruptive digital platform for musicians who want to share their music, back stories, inspirations, and personal experiences with their fans. Musicians revel in sharing narratives, collaborating, divulging behind-the-scenes moments, unveiling new releases, and fostering connections with their dedicated fanbase. This platform is built to be scalable along with the musician’s career and beyond. This platform is meant to be a legacy platform that will be live for decades even after the musician’s lifetime. We are calling this platform AI Legacy Jukebox. It aims to showcase the capabilities of the AI Legacy Jukebox Platform, illustrating how it enhances the experiences of both musicians and their fans.
Musicians presently leverage a variety of social media platforms for sharing and disseminating their music. Platforms such as Instagram and Facebook provide spaces to share personal stories and experiences with friends and family. Twitter excels at succinct and engaging updates, while YouTube serves as a host for more extensive content like vlogs or music videos. Facebook allows users to post comments, share photographs, and post links to news or other interesting content on the web, chat live, and watch short-form video.
The Problem: The posting on many different social media accounts for a musician is painful and time consuming. Most musicians post after their concerts to their social media accounts or to their personal groups. Their performance highs and experiences are fresh and this is when they share it. Or they have to rely on a third party service to help them especially if it’s a commercial campaign which can be costly.
On this personalize platform the musician is in total control of what is exposed, shared, and remembered as he or she wants to be remembered as they live their legacy.
The idea for the AI Legacy Jukebox emerged during a conversation with Jerry Barnes, the bass player for Nile Rodgers & Chic for two decades. Jerry aimed to immortalize the legacy of his sister, Katreese Barnes—a two-time Emmy Award winner and the music director of SNL. The objective was to spotlight her original unreleased music and introduce her to a new audience, allowing them to connect with her as if she were still alive today. Katreese had unfortunately passed away in 2019 after a prolonged 20-year battle with breast cancer.
My concept of a jukebox-like platform to resurrect her legacy gained validation when Jerry recollected Katreese using the term ‘jukebox’ decades ago. As a product designer, I envisioned an AI platform dedicated to securing Katreese’s musical legacy. Incorporating Natural Language Processing (NLP) models and realistic metahumans (avatars), I believe we can create a presence for Katreese as if she were alive today.
